Miquel Herrero-Cortell has a PhD in History of Art from Universitat de Lleida. With dual training (bachelor’s degrees in Fine Arts and in History of Art; master’s degrees in Artistic Production and in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets), he has centred his career around historical-artistic and scientific research focused on the material and technical development of painting, specialising in pictorial praxis from the Renaissance to the 20th century. For more than five years he carried out his research in Centre d’Art d’Època Moderna at Universitat de Lleida, where he worked in the field of diagnostic imaging applied to historical-artistic heritage. He has conducted research stays internationally to centres such as Laboratorio di Analisi Non Invasive su Opere d’Arte (LANIAC) de la Università di Verona, andMax-Planck Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence, and has participated in diverse research projects internationally. He currently combines his role as lecturer of History of Art (UPV) with the diagnostic and procedural investigation of painting.
