Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and PhD in Audiovisual Communication, both from Universitat Politècnica de València. He won the Premio Extraordinario (outstanding award) for his thesis in 2010. He is currently a lecturer at UPV where he teaches subjects that cover audiovisual narration and film. In addition, he is a member of the research group ArtiCom (Communication, Art and Visual Culture). He has directed and taught courses, workshops and seminars on art, cinema and photography in various cultural and artistic institutions in Spain. He has written three books, co-edited many others and participated in more than a dozen books on cinema. He has published in various national and international high-impact research journals – focusing his attention on audiovisual practices that are located on the margins of the film industry and thus call into question the prevailing codes.
