Fernando Canet is a senior lecturer in Audiovisual Communication (Universidad Politécnica de Valencia), and accredited as a full professor of the University. I have enjoyed scholarships for research stays at Goldsmiths College University of London (UK), New York University (USA) and University of Kent (UK), as well as a visiting lectureship under the Erasmus-STA programme at Università degli Studi di Parma (Italy). He is the author of two books, co-author of another, Narrativa audiovisual: Estrategias y recursos (Síntesis, Madrid), co-editor de un cuarto, (Re)viewing Creative, Critical and Commercial Practices in Contemporary Spanish Cinema (Intellect, UK) and co-editor of two volumes on the multifaceted work of Javier Maqua (Shangrila Ediciones). He has written more than 70 book chapters and research articles. The articles published in international journals of impact include, for example, Studies in Documentary Films, The Journal of Popular Culture, Popular Communication, Journal of Film and Video, International Journal of Cultural Studies, Journal of Screenwriting and International Journal of Media & Cultural Politics. He has been guest editor for four special issues of the following journals: Hispanic Research Journal, L´Atalante, Continuum: Journal of Media & Cultural Studies and Catalan Journal of Communication & Cultural Studies. He has been Deputy Head of Teaching in his department and Director of the Area of Culture at the university.
