Since 1999, as a successor to the Department of the History of Art, this department has been established as the body responsible for teaching in the areas of Library Science and Documentation, Audiovisual Communication and Advertising, Aesthetics and Art Theory, History of Art, Music and the Theory and History of Education;participating in 6 centres, 15 bachelor’s programmes, 11 official master’s programmes and 2 PhD programmes, between the Vera and Gandia campuses. Also under its remit is master’s programme in Cultural Management and the PhD programme in Communication and Cultural Industries. .
Moreover, the lines of research within the department range fromweb metrics, open data, and scientific communication, to transmedia communication and audiovisual formats, to Art Theory and sources for the study of History of Art.
With this projection, DCADHA aims to train professionals in the Society of Information, amid complete digital transformation, developing its scientific work in the disciplines of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
